Choosing the Right LED Adaptor for Your Inflatable (Easy Guide)

1 minute, 33 seconds Read

One of the most common questions we’re asked is:

“What size LED adaptor do I need for my inflatable?”

The good news is — it’s actually very simple once you know what to look for. You’ll need an adaptor capable of running your blower fan and LEDs combined.

✅ Step 1 — Check the blower fan label

Open the zip at the bottom of your inflatable, peek inside at the inflatable blower. There should be a label where you’ll usually see something like:

  • 0.8A
  • 1.0A
  • 1.25A
  • 1.5A
  • 2.0A

This number tells you how much current (amps) the fan needs to run properly.

💡 The LEDs use very little extra power compared to the fan, so the fan rating is the best guide.

✅ Step 2 — Choose an adaptor that is one size higher

To keep everything running comfortably, choose an adaptor slightly higher than the fan’s rating.

This gives:
✔️ extra allowance for the LEDs
✔️ less heat in the adaptor
✔️ longer adaptor lifespan
✔️ stable brightness and fan speed

🔍 Example

If your blower says:

  • 1.0A fan

Choose:

  • 1.25A or 1.5A adaptor

If your blower says:

  • 1.5A fan

Choose:

  • 2.0A adaptor

⚠️ What not to do

🚫 Don’t choose an adaptor lower than the fan rating
(e.g., 1.0A adaptor on a 1.5A blower)

This can cause:

  • fan not fully inflating the inflatable
  • dim or flickering LEDs
  • adaptor overheating
  • adaptor failure

🔌 Voltage still must match

Always match the voltage exactly (e.g., 12V with 12V, 24V with 24V).
The amps can be higher, but the voltage cannot be different.

⭐ Quick Size Guide

  • 0.8A fan → 1.0A or 1.25A adaptor
  • 1.0A fan → 1.25A or 1.5A adaptor
  • 1.25A fan → 1.5A or 2.0A adaptor
  • 1.5A fan → 2.0A adaptor
